SAN ANTONIO, Texas -- Tiger baseball junior pitcher Jackson Teer has been named the Pitcher of the Year by D3baseball.com, while also earning First Team All-American honors from both D3baseball.com and the American Baseball Coaches Association.

Teer is the first SCAC baseball athlete to earn First Team All-American honors from both D3baseball.com and the ABCA since Texas Lutheran’s Nathan Malinovsky back in 2018. He is the first SCAC baseball athlete to secure a major national yearly award since former SCAC member Birmingham-Southern’s Bruce Maxwell was named D3baseball.com and ABCA National Player of the Year back in 2012.

Teer led Trinity University's in nearly every category, starting 12 games for the team this season and posting an 8-1 record. His 1.05 ERA leads all of Division III this season, while his 112 strikeouts and 0.80 WHIP (walks and hits per inning pitched) rank in the top five nationally. Teer struck out 20 batters against nationally-ranked University of Wisconsin-Whitewater earlier this year, tying Trinity's all-time record. That total is the most in D-III this year and is tied for the most across all divisions of the NCAA.

Earlier this week, Teer picked up All-Region honors from both D3baseball.com and the ABCA. He was the Regional Co-Pitcher of the Year for ABCA and the Regional Pitcher of the Year for D3baseball.com. Teer also earned the SCAC Pitcher of the Year award for the second straight season, and he was picked as a Fourth Team All-American by the ABCA in 2023.

Teer's season ranks among the best in Trinity University baseball history. His 1.05 ERA is the third-best in school history, trailing only two players from the 1960's. Teer is the ninth Tiger player to record 100 or more strikeouts in a season, with his 112 this year ranking fourth in single season history at Trinity. With his 20-strikeout game, Teer tied a school record that was set in 1965. He ranks 18th in career strikeouts at Trinity, despite pitching with the Tigers for just two years.

Trinity finished with a 32-15 record this season, winning the SCAC Regular Season Championship, and qualifying for the NCAA Playoffs for the fifth straight season. Head Coach Tim Scannell wrapped up his 25th season as the Tiger skipper and was named the SCAC Coach of the Year for his efforts.
