College Swimming Coaches Association of America Honors Eight SCAC Men's & Women's Teams

SUWANEE, Ga. -- The College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) has selected 718 programs across all divisions, including 299 from Div. III., to the Scholar All-America Team for the Spring 2023 semester, including four women's and four men's Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference teams.

Colorado CollegeUniversity of the OzarksSouthwestern University and Trinity University had both their men's and women's programs receive recognition.  

For Colorado College, it marks the 19th consecutive semester that both programs have received CSCAA Scholar All-America Team status. For Trinity, it is the 15th consecutive semester both programs have been honored and it is the ninth straight for Southwestern. Ozarks saw both its programs honored for the third time in the last five semesters.

The teams were selected on the basis of their Spring grade point averages and represent 17,497 student-athletes. To be selected as a CSCAA Scholar All-America Team, programs must have achieved a grade point average of 3.00 or higher over the fall semester.

On the women's side, Colorado College, led by head coach Anne Goodman James, tied for the 13th-highest GPA among the 161 Division III teams listed for All-America honors, with a 3.73. Ozarks, led by head coach David DeGeus, followed with a team GPA of 3.68 and Southwestern, led by head coach Jon Duncan, was close behind with a 3.64 team GPA. Trinity, coached by Cathleen Pruden recorded a team GPA of 3.52 over the spring 2023 semester.

The Colorado College men’s squad ranked tied for the fifth highest among the 137 Division III teams and top among all SCAC programs, posted an impressive 3.74 team GPA. Trinity University followed with a 3.42 team GPA, while Ozarks (3.22) and Southwestern (3.07) rounded out the SCAC honorees.

Founded in 1922, the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) – the first organization of college coaches in America - is a professional organization of college swimming and diving coaches dedicated to serving and providing leadership for the advancement of the sport of swimming & diving at the collegiate level.
