The Tigers pulled of a pair of upset wins, including handing top-seeded Texas Lutheran its first loss at the SCAC Tournament since 2016, while the Celts cruised past Southwestern in the opening day nightcap to advance just one win shy of the SCAC Championship series.

Fifth-seeded and host Trinity University used a dominant pitching performance from Jordan Arce as she tossed a one-hit, eight strike out complete game shutout in the Tigers' 1-0 victory over fourth-seeded Centenary College in the opening round of the 2023 SCAC Softball Championship. Third-seeded Southwestern University earned an 8-3 win over sixth-seeded Schreiner University on Friday afternoon in game two of the 2023 SCAC Softball Championship. Pirate short stop Jessey Nunez paced the Southwestern offense as she was 3-for-3 with a triple, an RBI, and two runs scored. Recap
