TEMPE, Ariz. -- The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) released the 2023 All-Academic Teams and Scholar Athletes last week and seven Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference programs, and 63 student-athletes were recognized.
Colorado College, Southwestern University and Trinity University were all recognized as All-Academic teams on both the men's and women's side, while the Schreiner University men’s program was also honored.
Individually, Colorado College paced all SCAC honorees with 21, followed by Southwestern with 16, Trinity with 15 and Schreiner rounded out the impressive list of 63 total individuals with 11.
The ITA All-Academic Team award is open to any ITA program that has a cumulative team grade point average of 3.20 or above (on a 4.00 scale). All varsity letter winners should be factored into the cumulative team GPA for the current academic year (including fall 2022 and spring 2023) and must be listed on the institutional eligibility form.
In order to earn ITA Scholar-Athlete status a player must meet the following criteria: 1.) be a varsity letter winner, 2.) have a grade point average of at least 3.50 (on a 4.00 scale) and 3.) be listed on the institutional eligibility form.
