GEORGETOWN, Texas -- The top-seeded and 16th-ranked Trinity University women advanced to their 11th straight conference final with Saturday's 5-0 defeat of University of St. Thomas in Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Women’s Tennis Championship semifinal action Saturday evening on the campus of Southwestern University. Trinity improved its record to 15-4 and will take on the host school, Southwestern, in tomorrow's championship match. First serve is scheduled for 2 p.m. CT.
University of St. Thomas slips to 5-7 and will take on Colorado College tomorrow at Noon in the third-place match. That contest will be contested at Round Rock High School.
The Tigers were impressive from the jump, sweeping all three doubles matches by comfortable margins, led by 8-1 victories from both Ellie Hughes and Brooke Belitz at No. 3 and Cate Cushing and Trinity Levy at No. 2.
Needing two points to advance to Sunday's final, Trinity didn't have to wait long as the Tigers chalked up two shutout wins as Hughes and Ella Cummings both posted 6-0, 6-0 victories at No. 5 and No. 6 singles, respectively with Cummings getting the clinching point.
Trinity will be seeking its 25th conference championship in the sport of women's tennis on Sunday.

Trinity will take on Southwestern for the seventh consecutive year in the SCAC women's championship final. The Tigers hold a 5-1 edge in the previous six matchups, which includes a 5-0 victory in last year's title match which was played at Schreiner University. The two played a regular season match on these same courts back on April 21, a contest Trinity took 7-2.
