The Colorado College women fall to 6-13 and await the loser of Trinity/St. Thomas in tomorrow's third-place match. That contest will take place at Noon tomorrow at Round Rock High School.
Southwestern took the first two doubles points before Colorado College's top line duo of Maddy Meister and Gigi Jensen salvaged a point for the Tigers, taking a hard-fought 8-7 decision over SU's Nina Mitrofanova and Alli Ziehm.
The Pirates poured it on in singles play, with Sydney Wahl picking up the first point with a 6-1, 6-2 win at the third line, followed by a 6-1, 6-2 win by Lydia Lee at No. 4 to give SU the 4-1 advantage and needing just one more win to advance. Southwestern's Alli Ziehm exacted some revenge from her earlier doubles setback, earning the clinching point with a 6-2, 6-0 victory over CC's Maddy Meister.
