SUWANEE, Ga. – Trinity sophomore right-handed pitcher Jackson Teer was named to the D3baseball.com Team of the Week for the second time this season, it was announced on Wednesday.
Teer finished off Trinity baseball’s three-game SCAC weekend sweep of Dallas by earning a 10-0 shutout victory in the series finale on Sunday. Teer combined with teammate Harrison Durow, tossing a three-hit shutout to clinch the series sweep. Teer allowed just two hits over eight innings of work, striking out a career-high 12 batters for his team-leading sixth victory. This season, Teer also leads the team with 51 strikeouts in 49.2 innings and is holding teams to a .199 batting average against him.
Earlier this week, Teer was also named SCAC Pitcher of the Week.
The Team of the Week is D3baseball.com's weekly honor roll, in its 12th season of recognizing the top performers at each of nine positions from the previous week. Players are selected from nominations from their school's sports information directors.
Teer is the fifth different SCAC athlete to earn national recognition this season and first to be recognized twice, previously being named to the D3baseball.com Team of the Week back in March.
