NORMAN, Okla. – The Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) released the NCAA Division Golf All-America Scholars on Wednesday, and nine Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) individuals were selected as honorees.
The nine SCAC athletes recognized are the most in men’s golf history. 200 NCAA Division III athletes from 75 schools earned 2022-23 GCAA All-America Scholar honors. The previous conference record was eight most recently accomplished in 2020-21.
Southwestern and Trinity both placed four student-athletes on the list.
The four Pirates represented included senior Nicholas Hoisington, junior Logan Pullin and sophomores Matthew Peesker and Bryce Stiemert. For Hoisington and Pullin, it was the second consecutive year they have been named to the exclusive team.
The Tigers earning All-America Scholar honors included senior Daniel Nunez, juniors Giorgio Gianoulis and Jack McKay and sophomore Jacob Mason. It was the second career honor for Nunez, previously earning recognition back in 2020-21.
Rounding out the SCAC contingent was Texas Lutheran sophomore Tobey Wills, who picked up his first career All-America Scholar accolade. It marks the fourth consecutive year a Bulldog has earned scholar All-America honors.
To be eligible for GCAA All-America Scholar nomination, an individual must be a sophomore, junior or senior both academically and athletically in NCAA Division I, II, III, and NAIA, or receiving their Associate’s Degree and in their last year of athletic eligibility in the NJCAA.
