Trinity's Meyer and Sheridan Earn All-American Honors

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Trinity University seniors Bailey Meyer and Molly Sheridan were each named to the United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division III Women’s All-American First Team it was announced Wednesday evening. Full Release

It marks the first time since 2018 the SCAC has earned multiple First-Team All-American selections.

Meyer elevated to the top team after earning Second Team All-American honors last year as a junior. She was tabbed SCAC Defensive Player-of-the-Year for the second consecutive year and earned first-team All-SCAC accolades for the third-straight season in 2022. Meyer's play as the captain on the back line powered Trinity to lead NCAA III with a 0.165 goals-against average in 2022, allowing just four goals through 24 contests. In 68 career starts, Meyer helped the Tigers post a shutout in 48 of those, including an SCAC record 20 this season.

Sheridan is making her first appearance on the All-American team. The 2022 SCAC Co-Offensive Player-of-the-Year, Sheridan collected 19 goals for 46 points in total, and currently stands seventh in Trinity career history with 121 points, eighth with 48 goals.

The Tiger duo represents the fourth time since 2002 that Trinity has had two players on the United Soccer Coaches All-America first team, having done so in the 2002, 2009 and 2018 seasons prior.

The Trinity duo mark the 66th and 67th All-America recognitions by SCAC women’s soccer student athletes in conference history and were both tabbed for the United Soccer Coaches All-Region X First Team earlier in the week.

Meyer and Sheridan will be formally recognized for their accomplishments at the United Soccer Coaches All-America Ceremony & Reception on Saturday, Jan. 14, 2023, at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia in conjunction with the United Soccer Coaches Convention.
