GREENWOOD, Ind. - Senior guard AJ Clark of Trinity University Men's Basketball was selected to the Academic All-District 8 lineup for the second time in his career by the College Sports Information Directors of America in its release Thursday.
The 2021‐22 CoSIDA Academic All‐District Men's Basketball Team recognizes the nation's top student‐athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. Clark advances to the CoSIDA Academic All‐America ballot; honorees will be announced in mid‐March.
A well-rounded player on the court, leading the Tigers in minutes played, rebounds and assists this season, Clark extends that style into the classroom with a 3.91 cumulative grade-point average, majoring in Business Analytics & Technology.
The 2020-21 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Elite 19 recipient recently became the ninth Tiger to record over 100 assists in a single season with a career-high 11 dimes in Tuesday's crucial SCAC victory over Schreiner University. The double-digit distribution effort also vaulted him to eighth all-time at Trinity for career assists.
The Tigers (20-4, 12-3 SCAC) clinched at least the second seed in the upcoming SCAC Championship tournament with the 98-74 victory over the Mountaineers Tuesday, with a chance at the regular-season title still available.
The 2021-22 regular season concludes Sunday as Trinity will battle University of Dallas in Irving, Texas at 1 p.m. The 2022 SCAC Championship will be held February 25-27 on the campus of Austin College.
