LIVE OAK CITY, Texas -- In a announcement made at Saturday's championship meet, Trinity University's Ben Whittemore was named the 2021 SCAC Men's Cross Country Elite 19 award winner.
The SCAC Elite 19 is awarded annually to the student-athlete who has at least a cumulative 3.25 GPA, at least 60 credit hours at his or her current institution and earns All-SCAC honors for that particular season.
Whittemore, a junior accounting major from Georgetown, Texas, currently holds a 3.646 GPA and took All-SCAC honors with his 10th-place finish at Saturday's championship meet.
It marks the third straight year a Trinity student-athlete has won the award as Keaton Holt took home the honor following both the 2019 and 2020/21 championships.
