INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Trinity University’s Katarina Partalas earned Honorable Mention All-American honors, winning the consolation final of the one-meter diving competition to highlight the SCAC performances through the opening two days of the 2022 NCAA Women’s Swimming and Diving Championships.
Partalas earned a qualifying score of 374.35 in the preliminary round of the one-meter board. The senior finished the consolation final with a score of 412.15 (9th place) and earned All-American Honorable Mention honors. Teammate Alexis Radhakrishnan finished the preliminary round on the one-meter dive with a score of 313.60 to finish 28th.
Other highlights from day two include Colorado College’s Kate Brush swimming a personal best 55.75 in the 100-yard butterfly to finish 17th in the nation, just outside All-American honors.
Trinity’s Emma Hagan touched the wall in 22nd in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:52.01.
In the relay events from day two, Southwestern’s Jesse Stovall, Zoe Garcia, Emma Williams and Emma Frey finished 24th in the 200-yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:36.93. In the 400-yard medley relay, Trinity’s Morgen Reyna, Jadyn Trahan, Caroline Myers and Hagan teamed up to finish 23rd with a time of 3:53.11. The Southwestern quartet of Frey, Williams, Garcia and Delaney Anthony hit the wall in 4:10.40 to finish 25th.
The opening day was highlighted by Trinity’s Reyna, Trahan, Myers and Mehan Magill as they dove in for the 200-yard medley relay and finished 22nd with a time of 1:46.60. Southwestern finished 27th behind the team of Frey, Williams Stovall and Garcia, hitting the wall in 1:52.02.
Individually on day one, Trinty’s Hagan led the way with a 28th-place finish in the 50-yard freestyle, turning in the second-best time of her career at 23.63. Southwestern’s Stovall and Colorado College’s Brush finished 47th and 66th in the nation in the same event with times of 23.97 and 24.66 respectively.
Following the opening two days of the NCAA Championships, Trinity is currently in 25th-place with a total team score of nine points, while both Colorado College and Southwestern are still fighting for their first points of the meet.
