LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. -- The seventh week of SCAC Baseball continued this week with No.1 Trinity and No.17 Centenary both posting undefeated weeks.

No. 1 Trinity (16-1; 6-0 SCAC) had another undefeated week with a 3-0 series sweep over Austin College. A 9-0 victory in game one was led by Jack Wisniewski with a 3-for-4 effort from the plate that featured four RBI. Mason Meredith joined Wisniewski in the three-hit club and crossed the plate three times. The Tigers extended their winning streak to nine games with 12-4 and 8-6 victories on Friday. Harrison Durow improved to 2-0 this season after tossing five innings of relief in game one. Durow allowed one run on three hits and struck out six batters to secure the victory. Michael Goodrich was 2-for-4 with five RBI, and Rafe Chaumette went 3-for-5 with two runs scored in the opener to lead the Tigers. Jack Vonderhaar and MJ Metz each had two hits and two runs scored to start the day. Jack Schmitt and Carter Fronk wrapped up the second game on the mound for the Tigers, combining for six strikeouts over four shutout innings to close out the series. Austin College (4-12; 0-9 SCAC) was led by Logan. Ballard in the first game, with a two-run single that plated Brandon Hill and Justin Alphonse. Nick Flynn had a solo homer in the eighth for the ‘Roos. Jake Webster and Zack Mahoney each had a pair of hits to lead the ‘Roos in the second game.

No.17 Centenary (23-2; 9-0 SCAC) finished with a 3-0 weekend sweep over Dallas to push its win streak to 17, the best start in program history. Friday’s doubleheader produced 5-1 and 12-5 victories for the Gents. Senior Preston Ludwick allowed just one run and one hit in seven innings of work in game one. He walked five and struck out eight. Cole Collins and Tyler Welch each had two hits to start the day. Gary Hewitt led the way for the Gents in the second game with a 4-for-5 effort and three runs scored. Preston Ludwick was 3-for-5 at the plate with two runs scored to lead the Gents to an 8-4 victory Saturday. Tyler Erickson, Chris Haggard, and Tyler Welch each had two hits. Ben Bridges was 1-for-2 with a pair of RBI and a walk, Erickson had an RBI and a walk, and Welch had an RBI and two runs scored. Dallas (5-13; 3-6 SCAC) was led by Conrad Voss in the first game of the series who pitched eight innings while allowing eight hits, five runs – only two of which were earned – with one walk and one strikeout.

Texas Lutheran (13-7; 6-0 SCAC) went 3-1 over the week with a loss to Texas A&M-International Tuesday, before sweeping St. Thomas in a three-game series. TLU had a 7-4 victory to start the series, with Caleb Maly, Cullen Motsinger and Collin Docker each producing two hits. The Bulldogs posted 10-0 and 7-4 victories Friday to finish off the week. Joe Burch earned the Bulldogs the early game tossing a complete-game four-hitter, striking out eight and working around two walks. Caleb Maly and Austin Colon each drove in three, and Maly was 3-for-3 with two runs scored and a walk. Colon was 1-for-3 with a two-run double and an RBI sacrifice bunt. In the late game, Cole Irby registered four hits in five at-bats, and scored twice and drove in a run. Tyler Cauley had two hits, including a triple, and an RBI. St. Thomas (12-9; 1-8 SCAC) was led by Noah Martinez in the early game going 2-for-2 at the plate. John Sebok and Leo Galvan also recorded hits. In the second game, Galvan went 2-for-4, while recording all four of the Celts’ RBIs. John Sebok also went 2-for-4, while plating two runs.

After dropping a non-conference game to Mary Hardin-Baylor on Tuesday, Southwestern (9-12; 6-3 SCAC) rebounded from a series-opening loss to Schreiner on Friday to take a doubleheader sweep on Saturday to finish the week with a series win. In Saturday’s 7-3 game one victory, Benjamin Ludwig wen the distance, giving up three earned runs off eight hits with no walks and 10 strikeouts in nine innings of work. Jacob Tanner went 3-for-5 with an RBI and two runs scored, with Jake Harris going 2-for-3 with two RBIs and a run scored. The Pirates finished the series with a 14-9 victory, led by Landon Durdin with a three-RBI double to score Lance Kruse, Daniel Montgomery Jr., and Jake Harris. Machi Horne earned the Pirates' win out of the bullpen, pitching two innings with three strikeouts and two runs surrendered, only one of which was earned.

Schreiner (8-17; 2-7 SCAC) started the week with a pair of loses against McMurry on Tuesday, but earned a victory an 8-4 victory over Southwestern on Friday prior to Saturday’s doubleheader loss. Daniel Garza pitched a scoreless sixth and seventh inning to lead the Mountaineers to Friday’s comeback win.

Week eight in the SCAC continues with 16 games on the schedule.
