LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - The Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference men's swimming and diving season got underway as four of the league's seven teams met at Colorado College's Schlessman Natatorium for a weekend of round-robin dual meets.

In Friday's first dual, the Austin College women's swimming and diving team topped McMurry, 102-73.

The 'Roos opened the day with a win in the 200 medley relay with the team of Chloe Hunt, Jade Kemp, Zuni Rubio and Eleanna Martinez finishing with a time of 2:07.64. Hunt would add first-place finishes in both the 200 free (2:18.38) and 100 free. amd Rubio picked up victories in the 200 IM (2:36.45) and 100 breast (1:21.44).

Friday's second dual of the day saw the Colorado College women's swimming and diving teams take a commanding 179-50 victory over the University of the Ozarks.

Sophomores Kate Brush and Peyton Classon, as well as freshmen Gina Lynch, Emma Phillips and Annie Bowens each collected a pair of individual wins.

Brush, a team co-MVP as a freshman last season, won the 200 free and 100 fly, and finished second in the 200 IM. Phillips showed her endurance by winning the 500- and 1000-yard free races, each by more than 30 seconds. Lynch captured the 200 IM and 100 back, and led off the meet-opening 200 medley relay. Bowens won the 50- and 100-yard free races and was the opening swimmer for the first-place 400-yard freestyle relay.

In diving, Classon captured both the 1- and 3-meter boards.

On Saturday, the Colorado College women claimed their second dual victory of the weekend as the Tigers defeated Austin College, 173-31.

Junior Maddie Amick and sophomore Peyton Classon, along with freshmen Emma Phillips and Annie Bowens, were dual event winners. Classon, Phillips and Bowens repeated the feat from Friday's victory over the University of the Ozarks.

Phillips continued her dominance in the longer freestyle events, winning the 200- and 500-yard races. She also anchored the Tigers' triumphant 200 free relay team. Meanwhile, Bowens was stellar in the sprints once again, winning the 50- and 100-yard free races for the second time in as many days. In addition, she swam on the first-place 400 medley relay team. Amick won her first two races of the season on Saturday, taking the 200 back and 200 breast.

In diving, Classon won both boards, posting 189.60 points for the five-dive event, and 285.15 points for six dives.

In the final dual of the weekend, the University of the Ozarks women posted a 134-63 win over McMurry. The Eagles were led by Antalya Meals, who charted wins in the 50 free (27.69) and the 100 free (1:00.80). She was also part of the 200 free relay winning team, along with teammates Catherine Wellborn, Arianna Rosario and Shalley Coffin. Dawn Hampton won the diving competition posting a 204.00.
