KERRVILLE, Texas – First-year third baseman Marina Delaluna went 3-for-3 with three runs and four RBI in helping power third-seeded Trinity University to a 10-1 six-inning victory over sixth-seeded University of Dallas in first-round play at the 2021 SCAC Softball Tournament. HOW IT HAPPENED
- Dallas took an early 1-0 lead in the top of the first on an Annabel Anderson RBI double. Trinity answered in the bottom of the first with a two-run home run from Marina Delaluna to take an early 2-1 lead.
- The Tigers maintained their 2-1 lead heading into the bottom of the fifth. A Jordyn Williams RBI ground out made it 3-1 before MK Stark singled home a run a few batters later. A grand slam home run from Diamond Elizondo broke open the game and gave the Tigers an 8-1 lead. Trinity added two insurance runs in the bottom of the sixth to earn the run-rule victory.
