Greenwood, Ind. -- Colorado College's Isabelle Aragon-Menzel was rewarded for her unwavering commitment to academic and athletic excellence by earning a place on CoSIDA's Academic all-District Volleyball Team and now is eligible for Academic All-America consideration.
Aragon Menzel, who graduated in May with a bachelor's degree in sociology, recorded a 3.95 grade-point average during her four-year career while juggling the demands of playing for CC's nationally-ranked volleyball program.
This past spring in her first season as the team's primary setter, the senior co-captain led the Tigers to the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference championship with a perfect 17-0 record, as well as the No. 1 ranking in the final American Volleyball Coaches Association's Division III Coaches Top 25 Poll.
Aragon-Menzel was named the SCAC's inaugural Setter of the Year as well as a first-team all-conference selection after Colorado College led the league with a .278 team hitting percentage and an average of 13.71 assists per set.
She also was named MVP of the SCAC Championship after CC defeated No. 2 Trinity University for the third time this season.
In addition, Aragon-Menzel received the SCAC's Elite 19 Award, which is presented to the student-athlete who has completed the equivalent of at least 60 credit hours, has at least a cumulative 3.25 GPA, and earned all-SCAC first- or second-team honors that season.
Finally, on May 11 during the school's virtual honors convocation, Aragon-Menzel received the Laura Golden Award, which is presented to Colorado College's top female student-athlete among the 2021 graduating class.
The 2021 CoSIDA Academic All-America Volleyball Teams will be announced in early July.
