LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - Trinity University, which has won 13 of the last 15 conference regular season titles, was recognized with 16 honorees among the 24 impressive student-athletes selected to the Southern College Athletic Conference’s 30th Anniversary women’s soccer team. Complete Release
The Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference will be announcing 30th Anniversary teams in 21 sports throughout the 2020-21 academic year. The league selected 15th Anniversary teams during the 2005-06 academic year – those selections can be found here.
The SCAC's 30th Anniversary teams were selected through balloting by present coaches in each sport as well as administrators. Athletes who participated in conference competition between the fall of 2005 through the spring of 2020 and had been named to at least two All-SCAC teams and/or were a selected as a Player-of-the-Year in their respective sport were eligible for selection.
Among fellow current members, Centenary College and Southwestern University both had two selections while Texas Lutheran University had one honoree. Former league members Centre College, DePauw University and Rhodes College each had one selection, respectively, to the all-anniversary team.

Eight forward make an appearance on the All-Anniversary team including Abigail Loar, Julia Camp, Kate Semmler, Brianna Young and Colleen Markey of Trinity, Erin Menard of Centre, Kyra Montes of Centenary and Sioned Kirkpatrick of Texas Lutheran.
Loar was a four-time All-SCAC First Team honoree during her career at Trinity – one of just eight players in league history to secure this distinction – and was the conference’s Offensive Player of the Year in both 2010 and 2011 after winning Newcomer-of-the-Year in 2008. A prolific scorer (she led the league in scoring in both 2009 and 2010), Loar is fifth all-time in SCAC history for points with 149 and is tied for seventh in career goals scored with 58. A three-time All-West Region First Team selection, Loar earned Third Team All-American honors in 2010 and was a consensus First Team All-American in 2011.
A three-time All-SCAC First Team selection, Camp finished her career with 43 goals and 28 assists for 114 points. She led the league in scoring as a sophomore in 2015 with 14 goals and 32 points. A First Team All-Region selection as a junior and senior, Camp capped her career at Trinity with Third Team All-America honors in 2017.
Trinity’s Semmler was a three-time All-SCAC performer, including First Team nods her freshman (2003) and senior seasons (2006) with a Newcomer and an Offensive Player-of-the-Year honor accompanying each, respectively. She finished her career with 35 goals and 22 assists for 92 points and earned Second Team All-America honors in 2006.
Young was a two-time First Team All-SCAC selection (2008 and 2009) for Trinity and capped her career by earning SCAC Offensive Player-of-the-Year honors in 2009. A two-time All-Region selection, Young was a First Team All-American in 2009 and finished her career with 37 goals and 15 assists for 89 points.
Trinity’s Markey earned First Team All-SCAC honors three consecutive years (2015, 2016 and 2017), coupled with Second Team All-Region accolades each of those seasons. She posted career numbers of 27 goals scored and 35 goals assisted, which included a league-high 10 helpers in 2015.
Centre’s Menard was a four-time All-SCAC performer and led the league in scoring in both 2005 and 2006. Her 24 goals scored in 2005 are the second-most in a single season by a first-year player in league history and she finished her career tied for fifth in all-time goals scored with 59. She capped her career with Second Team All-America honors in 2008.
Montes was a three-time First Team all-conference honoree – the only Centenary player in the D3 era to earn those accolades – and capped her career with First Team All-Region honors. Montes led the SCAC in points per game her senior season with 2.29 on 11 goals and 10 assists in just 14 matches. After transferring from Mississippi College, she finished with 28 goals and 17 assists for 73 points in three seasons at Centenary.
A First Team All-SCAC selection all three of her years in the conference, Kirkpatrick finished her career with 112 points and 48 goals – both good for third all-time in TLU women's soccer history. She capped her career with Offensive Player-of-the-Year honors in 2015 when she led the league in goals scored per game with 0.65. Perhaps the most impressive statistic from her four years in Seguin, Kirkpatrick scored 43.2 percent of her team's goals during her career (48 of 111).
The 30th Anniversary team is comprised of seven midfielders with six of those honorees coming from Trinity – Emily Jorgens, Kelsey Falcone, Chelsea Cole, Jordan Azar, Jennifer Wray and Julia Kelly. Migui Boldrin of Centenary also earned a slot on the team.
Jorgens was one of the most decorated players in SCAC history, earning All-SCAC honors all four years, including First Team nods in 2012, 2013 and 2014. She was the league’s Offensive Player-of-the-Year in both 2012 and 2013. Jorgens was selected First Team All-Region all four seasons as well as an All-American, with Third Team recognition in 2011, Second Team accolades in 2012 and consensus First Team honors in 2013 and 2014. She finished her career with 206 points (second all-time in SCAC history), making her one of just two players in league history to eclipse 200 points scored. Her 59 goals scored are tied for fifth all-time and she is the league’s all-time leader in assists with 88 (second-most in NCAA DIII history). She led the league in assists each of her four years, including a conference-record 30 helpers in 2013 (tied for most in a single-season in NCAA DIII history).
Trinity’s Falcone, who partnered with Jorgens to form the most prolific scoring duo in conference history, was the league’s Offensive Player-of-the-Year as a senior after leading the league with 20 goals scored. She is one of just three players in league history with two 20+ goals scored seasons and finished her career as the fourth-leading scorer in SCAC history with 151 points (54 goals and 43 assists). A four-time All-SCAC performer, Falcone was a three-time First Team All-Region selection and two-time All-American honoree.
A two-time First Team selection, Cole is one of just four players in league history to earn multiple Offensive Player-of-the-Year honors, taking home the award in 2017 and 2018. She finished her career at Trinity with 140 total points (eighth all-time in SCAC history) on 55 goals (10th in SCAC history) and 30 assists. She capped her career with First Team All-Region and All-America honors in 2018 when she led the league with 23 goals scored.
Trinity’s Azar was a four-time All-SCAC performer, including First Team recognition in 2008, 2009 and 2010. She finished her career with 15 goals and 29 assists (59 total points) and was a two-time All-Region selection, capped with a First Team All-American nod from the NSCAA in 2010.
Wray is also one of the four student-athletes to earn multiple Offensive Player-of-the-Year honors but is the only one to do it non-consecutive years, taking top honors as a sophomore in 2005 and again as a senior in 2007. A three-time First Team selection, Wray finished her four years at Trinity with 35 goals and 28 assists for 98 points.
Trinity’s Kelly, the league’s Defensive Player-of-the-Year in 2017, was also a weapon on the offensive side of the pitch, accumulating 22 goals and nine assists in her four years. She was a two-time First Team All-Region selection and capped her career with Second Team All-American honors in 2017.
Despite playing just one year in the SCAC, Centenary’s Boldrin made her mark, leading the conference in goals (16), shots (97) and points (39) while earning 2019 Offensive Player-of-the-Year honors. In earning that award, she became the institution’s first student‐athlete to garner POTY honors in any fall sport since Centenary joined the SCAC prior to the 2012 season.
Six defenders earned places on the All-Anniversary team including Kristen Canepa, Kirby Peddicord, Danika Wright and Hannah Booher of Trinity, Davis Federspiel of DePauw and Mallory Harkins of Southwestern.
Canepa is the league’s only two-time Defensive Player-of-the-Year honoree, taking top honors in 2018 and 2019. She earned First Team All-SCAC honors three times and helped Trinity to 65 shutouts in 85 career games. She had her most productive season on the offensive side of the ball as a senior, chipping in with four goals – two of which were game-winners – and an assist for nine points. Canepa was recognized as First Team All-Region and First Team All-American in both 2018 and 2019.
Trinity’s Peddicord joins her former teammate Abigail Loar as the only four-time All-SCAC First Team honorees on the all-anniversary squad – securing top honors from 2011 to 2014. A two-time All-Region selection and Third Team All-American in 2014, Peddicord was the league’s Defensive Player-of-the-Year that same year. She earned a slot on the NCAA Final Four All-Tournament Team as a junior when the Tigers made it to the 2013 national championship match.
Wright was a three-time First Team All-SCAC selection which included Defensive Player-of-the-Year honors as a junior in 2009. She was also a three-time All-Region selection and a First Team All-American in 2009. Like many Trinity defenders, Wright also contributed offensively, posting 20 goals and seven assists in her four-year career.
Booher earned First Team All-SCAC honors in 2015, 2016 and 2017 and bookended those awards with All-Region accolades in 2015 and 2017. Displaying her versatility, Booher finished fifth on the Trinity team in scoring in 2017 with 31 points, which included a league-leading 17 assists – the sixth-most in a single season in SCAC history.
DePauw’s Federspiel, the league’s Defensive Player-of-the-Year in 2005, was a key member of two SCAC championship teams (2003 and 2005) as the Tigers posted 41 shutouts in her four years spearheading the defense. A two-time All-American, Federspiel chipped in offensively with nine goals and an assist for 19 career points.
Southwestern’s Harkins became the first freshman in league history to earn SCAC Defensive Player-of-the-Year distinction when she brought home the honor following the 2016 season. A three-time First Team All-SCAC honoree, she culminated her career as a key contributor on the program’s first-ever SCAC tournament title-winning team in 2019 followed by an inaugural trip to the NCAA Tournament.
Three goalkeepers earned 30th anniversary distinction, including Mary Cardone of Southwestern, Becca Clarin of Rhodes and Katie Garrett of Trinity.
The league’s Newcomer-of-the-Year in 2016 – and one of just two goalkeepers to earn that honor – Cardone is the only three-time All-SCAC First Team goalkeeper in league history. She capped her career by leading Southwestern to its first-ever SCAC tournament title in 2019 by posting a clean sheet in the title game and earning the event’s Defensive MVP honor. Cardone posted a 0.86 goals-against-average for her career and earned Second Team All-Region honors her senior season.
Rhodes’ Clarin was a two-time All-SCAC First Team selection (2008 and 2009) and remains the only goalkeeper in league history to earn All-America honors, achieving that milestone as a junior in 2008 when she was selected to the NSCAA Third Team. She was the cornerstone of that ’08 Rhodes squad which won the SCAC title with an 8-1 conference mark, led the league in goals-against-average and shutouts and made the program’s first-ever appearance in the NCAA Tournament.
Trinity’s Garrett was a two-time All-SCAC and two-time All-Region selection, capping her career with Defensive Player-of-the-Year accolades as a senior in 2012 – making her (at that time) just the third goalkeeper in league history to earn either Player-of-the-Year or Defensive Player-of-the-Year honors. Her career goals-against-average of 0.45 is the eighth lowest in league history and the 0.26 GAA she posted as a freshman in 2009 is the fourth-lowest single-season total in SCAC history.
The SCAC was formed in 1991 after a reorganization of its predecessor, the College Athletic Conference (CAC). The CAC dates to 1962 with four charter members: Centre College, Southwestern @ Memphis (now Rhodes College), Sewanee-The University of the South, and Washington & Lee (Va.) University. Washington (Mo.) University joined the CAC later that same year.
The SCAC was formed to provide an association through which the member institutions may encourage organized competition in intercollegiate sports among teams representative of their respective student bodies. Members of this conference share a commitment to priority of the overall quality of academic standards and quality educational experiences.
