AIDEN MARLOW OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a sophomore from San Antonio, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Men’s Golfer-of-the-Week for competition played through Tuesday, March 19. SCAC Golf Release (Spring - Week 5)
Marlow finished in a tie for seventh individually, along with teammate Jacob Mason, as the Tigers finished third at the Texas Cup. Both Marlow and Mason tied for the team lead with 12 birdies over the last two days. Marlow finished at an even par 216 for the tournament, shooting even-par 72 on Tuesday to follow his 73 and 71 in the first two rounds.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Senior Andrew Bennett of Centenary led the way for the Gents in the Hal Sutton Invitational held at The Golf Club at Stonebridge in Bossier City, La., as he finished fifth at 3-over par 147. He shot an even-par 72 in Tuesday's final round preceded by a 3-over 75 in round one. Bennett, who finished third in the Hal Sutton last season, finished three shots off the individual lead and recorded the fourth top-five finish of his career and second of the season. Junior Tobey Wills of Texas Lutheran finished tied for 13th with a final tally of 221 (+5) over 54 holes to lead the Bulldogs at the Texas Cup. Sophomore Iain Griggs of Dallas fired a final round 70 (-2) to move 21 places up the leaderboard and finish tied for 18th at the Texas Cup. Griggs finished at 224 (+8) to pace the Crusaders.
