He joins an exclusive club of just eight others as four-time ADOY award winners. King is finishing his 32nd year as Trinity University's Director of Athletics and during his tenure, King has overseen an athletics program that has captured five NCAA Division III Championships and produced nearly 300 All-America student-athletes. He has also seen seven individuals win 11 NCAA Division III Championships in women's high jump (four), women's diving (three), men's pentathlon (indoor track & field) (two), men's swimming & diving, and women's swimming & diving. Under his leadership, Trinity teams have consistently excelled, winning numerous conference championships and earning top rankings in the NACDA Directors' Cup standings. King's commitment to academic and athletic excellence has also been evident, with Trinity student-athletes earning prestigious NCAA Postgraduate Scholarships and Academic All-America honors.

“Bob King is the epitome of what it means to be a transformational leader in collegiate athletics," said Eric Maloof, Vice President and direct report for Athletics at Trinity University. "His steadfast commitment to student-athlete success, both on and off the field, has elevated Trinity Athletics to national prominence while fostering a culture of academic and competitive excellence. This recognition is a testament to his incredible leadership, and I cannot think of anyone more deserving."
