SUWANEE, Ga. – Nine Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference football student-athletes earned recognition with the release of the D3Football.com All-Region Three Team on Wednesday.
It marks the first time since the 2016 the SCAC has been represented on the All-Region team and the nine selections are the most since 2009 when the league landed 12 student-athletes on the All-Region squad. McMurry University and Texas Lutheran University led all conference squads this year with three student-athletes to earn All-Region honors, followed by Centenary College with two and Austin College with one selection.
The conference was represented on the first team by McMurry seniors, Kristop Martin (WR) and Tim Leatherman (S), while Texas Lutheran senior punter Cameron Welch rounds out the SCAC First Team honorees.
Centenary sophomore D’Qavion Lemons (DT), McMurry senior Kane Strohman (DE) and Texas Lutheran sophomore Troy Tomaselli (S) landed on the Second Team.
Rounding out the SCAC All-Region selections were Texas Lutheran sophomore Ian Wollard (T), Centenary junior Kobe Chambers (RET) and Austin College senior Brady Dygert (LB), with each earning third team accolades.
