SUWANEE, Ga. – The reigning SCAC Defensive and Special Teams Players of the Week, sophomore defensive tackle D’Qavion Lemons of Centenary College and first-year Jax Rodriguez of McMurry University, were named to the D3Football.com Team of the Week for their performances on Saturday, September 21st.

Lemons had a stellar performance for the Gents in their 36-17 win at Austin College on Saturday night as he recorded a team-leading eight total tackles and had a team-best two sacks with a team-high two tackles for loss. Lemons also forced a fumble to lead a Gents' defense that recorded four sacks, had six tackles for loss, and forced four fumbles, recovering three.

Rodriguez was a perfect 4-of-4 on extra points and drilled a 52-year field goal in the War Hawks' 31-10 conference victory over Texas Lutheran. His 52-yard field goal is tied for the third longest field goal in SCAC history and the longest made since Jordan Gay of former SCAC member institution Centre drilled a 52-yarder in October of 2010.

The Team of the Week is D3football.com's weekly honor roll, in its 26th season of recognizing the top performance at each position from the previous week. Players are selected from nominations from their school's sports information directors.

Lemons and Rodriguez are the third and fourth SCAC athletes to earn D3Football.com National Team of the Week honors. Lemons’ teammate Jacob Wilson and Texas Lutheran’s Tristan Smith both garnered honors in week one earlier this month.
