INDIANAPOLIS, Ind., -- Colorado College senior center Zoë Tomlinson was named the U.S. Basketball Writers Association (USBWA) Division III National Player of the Week for the week ending January 5, it was announced Tuesday. Complete USBWA Release
Tomlinson, a 6-2 senior center from New York, N.Y., posted double-doubles in all three games as No. 24/25 (WBCA/D3hoops.com) Colorado College won all three. In a 74-45 victory over Susquehanna on December 28, Tomlinson finished with 26 points (10-of-18 FG, 6-of-9 FT), 18 rebounds, two assists, and three blocks. Two days later, she totaled 24 points (6-of-8 FG, 12-of-13 FT), 18 rebounds, four assists, and three blocks in a 76-61 win against SUNY New Paltz. Tomlinson culminated her outstanding week with 15 points (3-of-14 FG, 9-of 14 FT), 13 rebounds, three assists, three steals, and two blocks in a 54-40 win over St. Thomas (Texas). For the week, she averaged 21.7 points, 16.3 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 1.0 steals, and 2.7 blocks while shooting 47.5 percent (19-of-40) from the field and 75.0 percent (27-of-36) from the foul line. For her efforts, Tomlinson, currently tied for fourth in NCAA Division III with 14.1 rebounds per game, was selected to the D3hoops Classic All-Tournament Team and named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) Player of the Week.

Tomlinson is the second SCAC athlete to earn USBWA Division III National Player of the Week honors this year, joining Concordia’s (Tex.) Destiny Mathews who was honored back in November.
It's the first national POTW honor of Tomlinson's career.
