All seven competitors, which includes multiple relays, hail from Trinity University to represent the SCAC on the national stage.

Individually on the women’s side, junior Neely Burns holds the top qualifying spot, ranked fifth in the 400-yard IM with a time of 4:21.36. Burns is also scheduled to compete in the 200-IM (2:02.95) and 200-yard breaststroke (2:18.00), ranked ninth and 15th respectively. Burns, who is making her third consecutive trip to the NCAA Championships, returns as the defending national champion in the 400-IM after she became the first individual to claim a national title in the SCAC since 2014 with a winning time of 4:15.67 at last year’s event.

In addition to Burns, 2025 SCAC Swimmer of the Meet, sophomore Amy Benson will be making her second-straight appearance at the NCAA Championships. Benson qualified seventh in the 100-yard freestyle (50.18), 18th in the 200-yard freestyle (1:50.88) and 22nd in the 50-yard freestyle (23.31). Last year in her NCAA Championship debut, Benson finished eight in the 100-yard freestyle and 11th in the 50-yard freestyle to earn All-American honors.

Burns and Benson will be joined sophomore Julia Carter and junior Audrey Jacobson to compete in both the 400- and 800-yard freestyle relays. The quartet qualified 17th in the 400-free relay with a time of 3:26.30 and 16th in the 800-free relay after posting a time of 7:31.17.

The final Tiger relay to compete at the NCAA Championships is the 200-yard freestyle as Benson and Carter will be joined by junior Rachel Brown and sophomore Allison Ortiz. The foursome posted the 21st fastest qualifying time of 1:34.29.

On the men’s side, 2025 SCAC Swimmer of the Meet, first-year Luke Fender secured the top qualifying spot among all SCAC swimmers, ranked third in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 4:24.78. Fender is also scheduled to compete in the 200-yard freestyle following a top time this year of 1:37.99, the 15th fastest qualifying going into the championships.

The championships will be held March 19-22 at the Greensboro Aquatic Center in Greensboro, North Carolina. The Old Dominion Athletic Conference and the Greensboro Aquatic Center will serve as hosts. A total of 579 participants (526 swimmers and 53 divers) will compete in the championships.

Student-athletes qualified for the swimming portion of the championships by meeting the established minimum time for the events they entered. Divers will be determined by performances achieved at the regional diving meets from February 28 - March 1. The complete list of all swimmers competing in the championships is available at www.usaswimming.org/ncaa. Selected divers will be added to the website on Monday, March 3.
