Sunday's opening round was more about survival than anything else as high winds wreaked havic on the scoring. With steady winds over 20 miles per hour and gusts upward to 30 mph later in the day, scores soared to their highest for an opening round since the league played its championship in similar conditions at Horseshoe Bay Resort in 2011.

St. Thomas, who led the field in pars (14) on Sunday, are seeking their second SCAC men's golf championship in three years. The Celts had three players among the top seven individuals after first round play, including tournament leader Marshall Hatcher (pictured), who opened the championship with a one-over 73.
