HALLIE MARTIN OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a junior on the women's track and field team from Little Rock, Ark., has been selected the SCAC Character & Community Female Student-Athlete of the Week for the week beginning October 14.

The SCAC Character & Community award honors the efforts of student-athletes who excel in the field of athletics, and also serve their campus and community.

During the 2024 season, Martin competed in the high jump and long jump events for the Tigers. Her best long jump came at the Abilene Christian Invitational, where she leaped 4.59 meters and finished in the top 10. Martin's standout performance was at the SCAC Championships, where she secured fourth place with a jump of 1.47 meters in the high jump.

Along with her stellar performance on the track, Martin is actively involved on campus and in the city of San Antonio. She serves as the Service Chair of the Spurs Sorority, volunteering at Gardopia Gardens to help the community grow through gardening. Additionally, Martin is the head of marketing and social media for the Trinity University Formula Racing Club, where she oversees brand planning and development, as well as executing social media campaigns.

In her community, she works as a Creative Intern for Oak Hills Church in San Antonio, helping to spread the word of God through social media. Martin also volunteers around the community such as the San Antonio Humane Society, Family Violence Prevention Services, the ALS Walk, Street2Feet 5k, and Haven for Hope.

This spring, Hallie will look to help lead her team in hopes of capturing an SCAC title.
