Schreiner's Ross, St. Thomas' Johnson Selected NABC All-District

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) announced the 2024-25 NABC Coaches' Division III All-District teams and coaches Tuesday, recognizing the best men's collegiate basketball student-athletes and coaches in the division.

Schreiner University’s Kamden Ross earned First Team District 10 honors, while University of St. Thomas’ Angel Johnson was tabbed NABC District 10 Second Team.

Ross, a Cibolo, Texas native and two-time SCAC Player and Defensive Player of the Year, is making his second-straight appearance on the NABC First Team All-District team. He finished the season leading the SCAC in points per game, averaging 22.1 per night and finished his career third all-time in conference history with 1,741 career points. Ross was second in the SCAC with 11.7 rebounds per game and concluded his career as the conference’s all-time leading rebounder with 1,207. His 690 field goals in his career are good enough for second best in SCAC history.

Additionally, Ross is just the second player in league history to be named Player-of-the-Year and Defensive Player-of-the-Year in the same season, joining Myres who earned both honors in 2013-14, but the only one to pull off the POTY/DPOTY sweep twice.

Earlier this week, Ross was also named to theD3hoops.com All-Region 10 First Team.

Johnson, a junior of Houston, Texas, led St. Thomas to a historic season, winning the SCAC Blue Division Regular Season Title and the program’s third SCAC Tournament title and third-straight trip to the NCAA Tournament. A First Team All-SCAC performer, Johnson averaged a UST best 13.6 points per game on 49.8 percent shooting. He also added 4.4 assists per game (3rd in the SCAC), 3.8 rebounds per game and 3.0 steals per contest (1st in the SCAC). Johnson and the Celts finished the season with an overall record of 26-3 and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament after defeating Lewis & Clark in the opening round to secure the programs first win in Div. III NCAA Tournament history.
