Barnes, a native of Los Olivos, Calif., put together an outstanding junior campaign. At the SCAC Championships in April, Barnes’ dominance was on display, winning both the 1,500- and 800-meter events. He crossed the line in the 1,500 in a time of 4:00.58 and set a new SCAC Championship record in the 800 with a time of 1:51.31. The win in the 1,500 marked his third consecutive in the event, making him just the fourth athlete in SCAC history to three-peat, while he won the 800 for the second consecutive year, becoming the fifth athlete in league history to accomplish the feat. On the national stage, Barnes shined at the 2025 NCAA Division III Track and Field Championships, earning All-American honors in the 1,500-meters with a fourth-place finish. Barnes crossed the line in 3:30.01 to secure fourth.

Barnes is the second-straight CC Tiger and third overall to earn SCAC Track Athlete-of-the-Year, joining James Settles who secured the award last year and Josh Fry who won the award in 2021.

Sinegal, a native of Benbrook, Texas, had a banner year, culminating in a trio of All-American performances, including a First Team All-American honor with a sixth-place finish in the triple jump as last month’s National Championship. At the SCAC Championships, the senior took home first place in both the triple jump (15.00m) and the 110-meter hurdles (13.86) and secured silver in the long jump (7.11m). His time in the 110-hurdles set a new SCAC Championship record, while his leap in the triple jump is the second longest in league history. At the NCAA Championships Sinegal became the first SCAC athlete to earn All-American honors in the triple jump since 2011 after finishing sixth with a leap of 15.07m. He rounded out his performance on the national stage with a pair of Second Team All-American efforts, taking home 13th in the long jump (6.99m) and in the 110-meter hurdles after he qualified third but was ultimately disqualified in his attempt for a national title in the final.

Sinegal is the first athlete in McMurry program history to earned SCAC Field Athlete-of-the-year honors.

Brown burst onto the scene, winning gold in the 400-meter dash and running a leg on the winning Bulldog 4x400 meter relay squad at the 2025 SCAC Championships. In the 400, Brown crossed the line in a new SCAC meet record time of 47.24 and his efforts on the relay helped TLU cross the line in meet record time of 3:14.68. His win in the 400 marked the first for TLU since 2019, while the relay victory secured the first gold for the Bulldogs in the event since 2018. The Converse, Texas native continued his stellar rookie campaign at the NCAA Division III Track & Field Championships, earning Second Team All-American honors in the 400-meters after crossing the line in 48.99 to finish 16th.

Brown’s selection marks the fifth time a Texas Lutheran man has earned Track Newcomer-of-the-Year honors and the first since Scottie Reyes was recognized in 2021.

The McMurry University staff were selected for Track and Field Staff-of-the-year after winning the 2025 SCAC Track and Field Championships in April. Led by head coach Cody Knight, the team picked up six individual victories and the 4x100 meter relay en route to the program's first ever SCAC Men's Track & Field title. This is the first time the McMurry staff has been honored with the SCAC Men’s Staff-of-the-Year honors.
