Kendra Foreman Named Schreiner Head Women's Basketball Coach

KERRVILLE, Texas -- In an announcement made earlier this summer, Kendra Foreman has been named the next head women's basketball coach at Schreiner University.

“Kendra stood out in a very deep pool of candidates,” said Bill Raleigh, Schreiner Director of Athletics.

“Her Division III experience and proven recruiting ability at similar schools in the state of Texas got her noticed, but her maturity and professionalism made her the clear choice. We are excited to welcome Kendra and her family to Schreiner University and our athletic family."

Foreman's last coaching stop was at Howard Payne University, where she spent the 2023-24 season as the Lady Jackets' associate head coach.

Prior to her one-year stop at HPU, Foreman was at her alma mater, University of Mary Hardin-Baylor, where she served as an assistant coach and interim head coach from 2021-2023.

While on the UMHB staff, she helped the Cru to the 2021-22 American Southwest Conference regular-season title and third appearance in the NCAA Division III Sectionals. She took over as interim head coach in January of 2023.

No stranger to the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference, Foreman spent two seasons (2019-2020 and 2020-2021) as a graduate assistant at the University of Dallas. UD won four of its last six games during an abbreviated schedule in 2020-21 and earned a berth in the SCAC Tournament. While at Dallas, she was also part of the SCAC Coaching Staff of the Year in 2020-21.

Right after graduation from UMHB, Foreman spent one year as a volunteer assistant coach and helped lead the Cru to the first NCAA Division III National Championships berth in program history in 2018-19.

Playing two seasons at McClennan Community College before UMHB, Foreman graduated from UMHB in 2017 with a degree in sport management. During her time as a player at UMHB, she won American Southwest Conference West Division Defensive Player of the Year honors as a senior in 2016-17 and was a First Team ASC All-West Division earning a spot on the ASC Championship Tournament All-Tournament Team that season. She would receive Second Team ASC All-West Division honors as a junior.

“I want to thank Bill Raleigh and the entire Schreiner search committee for blessing me with this opportunity to join the Mountaineer family,” Foreman said, “I am excited and honored to be the next head women’s basketball coach at Schreiner University.

“I am ready to continue the foundation that has already been laid at this wonderful university. I am ready to get to work in the beautiful hill country with the student-athletes and staff and strive for excellence on and off the court.”

Kendra and her husband, Willie, have one son, Trae.
