COLT HARRIS, TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a senior infielder from  Katy, Texas, has been named the SCAC Baseball Hitter of the Week for games played from Monday, April 22 through Sunday, April 28. SCAC Baseball Release - Week 12

Harris led the ninth-ranked Tigers to a 3-1 record last week, including its SCAC weekend series win at Centenary College that clinched the top seed at the upcoming SCAC Tournament. The senior batted .462 (6-for-13) over the four games, scoring four runs and collecting seven RBI. He had three home runs and a double among his six hits, sporting a slugging percentage of 1.231 for the week.

Harris started the week with two home runs and three RBI in Trinity's 5-4 win over UMHB, which included the game-winning homer that broke a 4-4 tie in the eighth inning. He followed that with a 2-for-3 performance in the series opener with Centenary, scoring twice and driving in two more runs to account for four of the team's six runs in Friday night's win. Harris finished the week with a solo homer as part of a two-run seventh that gave the Tigers a four-run cushion.

Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Senior infielder Aric Vasquez of Texas Lutheran led the Bulldogs over the weekend, highlighted by a series of multi-hit performances against Southwestern. The Bulldogs took the series from the Pirates, winning two of three games to clinch a tournament spot in the process. Vasquez finished the week batting .538 (7-for-13) with a double, a home run and four runs driven in to pace the team's offensive attack. Senior outfielder Tyler Juarez of Schreiner led the Mountaineers to a 2-1 series victory over Dallas, batting .636 (7-for-11) with six runs scored. He added two doubles and three RBI and also stole two bases. Sophomore outfielder Carson Livesay of Centenary had a big weekend for the Diamond Gents as he hit .308 (4-13) in a three-game series at home against Trinity. He belted a pair of home runs, had five RBI, scored four runs, walked four times, and did not strike out in 13 at-bats in the series. First-year outfielder Luke Gill of Dallas tore the cover off the ball this weekend against Schreiner, batting .778 (7-for-9) at the plate, punctuated by a two-homer game in a 12-1 win in game two, and three doubles in game three against the Mountaineers. Sophomore infielder Alex Trinh of St. Thomas collected five hits, including two multi-hit games, with two triples and three RBI in the SCAC series against Austin College. He also scored a pair of runs.
