JACOB MASON OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a junior from Westminster, Colo., has been selected the SCAC Men’s Golfer-of-the-Week for competition played from Wednesday, October 4 through Tuesday, October 10. SCAC Golf Release (Week 4)
Mason blistered The Quarry Golf Club course, finishing with a three-round total of 16 under par (197) to lead the Trinity "A" team to a runner-up finish at the Tigerrs' Alamo City Classic, just behind his teammates who were representing the Trinity "B" team. The junior fired rounds of 68, 65 and set a new personal best when he shot a 64 in his final round to secure the four shot lead over teammate Grant Clark.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
First-year Sam McClure of Southwestern led the Pirates at the Alamo City Classic, finishing in third place with a three-round total of 208 (-5). McClure, who shot rounds of 68, 69 and 71, was one of just nine players to finish at under par in the 53-player field. First-year Antonio Ramirez of St. Thomas paced the Celts at the Alamo City Classic, completing the three-round event with a 214 total (+1), good for a tie for 10th place. First-year Tyler Givilamcz of Texas Lutheran led the Bulldogs at the Alamo City Classic, finishing the tournament with a three-round total of 215 (+2). Givilamcz was tied for the first-round lead after he opened with a 66.
