BRANDON NELSON, TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a sophomore catcher from Missouri City, Texas, has been named the SCAC Baseball Hitter of the Week for games played from Monday, April 3 through Sunday, April 9. SCAC Baseball Release - Week 9
Nelson led the Tigers to a three-game SCAC weekend sweep on the road at Dallas. Nelson finished the series hitting .636 (7-for-11) with seven runs scored and five RBI, collecting a double and two home runs among his seven hits for a 1.273 slugging percentage. He went 4-for-5 with a double and a homer in the series opener, scoring twice and notching three RBI. Nelson homered for the second straight game to close out the doubleheader, scoring twice and driving in two more runs. He finished the series by scoring three times in the series finale on Saturday.
