CAITLYN SAUER-NEWELL OF MCMURRY UNIVERSITY, a junior from San Antonio, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Women’s Co-Swimmer of the Week for performances during meets swam Thursday, December 5 to Sunday, December 8. SCAC Swimming & Diving Release (Week 8)
She shares the award this week with Macy Weathers of University of the Ozarks.
Sauer-Newell was the only double event winner for the War Hawks in the team's double dual meet with Austin College and UT-Permian Basin this past weekend. Sauer-Newell won both the 100 back (1:05.09) and 500 free (5:49.05) on Saturday.
Other Outstanding Performances in the SCAC:
First-year Macy Weathers of University of the Ozarks placed third in the 100 IM (1:10.27), first in the 50 fly (28.21), and was part of the Eagles' first-place effort in the 100 free relay at the Hendrix College Winter Sprint Invite. Her 50 fly established a new school record as she helped secure the meet victory over the Warriors.
