JEREMIAH RODRIGUEZ OF MCMURRY UNIVERSITY, a junior from Snyder, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Men’s Track Athlete of the Week for meets held from Monday, March 31 through Sunday, April 6. SCAC Track & Field Weekly Release - Week 6
Rodriguez ran a personal-best of 1:54.49 for 800 meters at the David Noble Relays at Angelo State, beating all DivisionII competitors and finishing fifth overall.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Junior Marc Mendoza of St. Thomas finished third overall in the 1,500 meters at the Pelican Relays, equaling his personal best time of 4:08.47. Battling windy and cold conditions, First-year Alex Bozhilov of Dallas, battling windy and cold conditions. placed sixth with a time of 15:14.22 at the UNT Bill Schmidt Invitational. He was the top NCAA DIII athlete in the event. Senior Thomas Hughes of Concordia (Texas) finished eighth overall in the 5,000 meters with a time of 15:58.73 to earn a point at the David Noble Relays. Rounding into form, his time was just nine seconds off his own school record.
