ALEX BOZHILOV OF UNIVERSITY OF DALLAS, a first-year from Sofia, Bulgaria, has been selected the SCAC Men’s Co-Track Athlete of the Week for meets held from Monday, March 10 through Sunday, March 16. SCAC Track & Field Weekly Release - Week 3
Running in his first career 10,000-meter race, Bozhilov won the event at the Rhodes Invitational against competition across all divisions with a time of 32:55.18. He bested the rest of the field by nearly two minutes and broke the UD program record by over two minutes that was set back in 2013. Bozhilov’s time is currently the fastest in the SCAC and 28th fastest in all of Division III to date.

Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Senior sprinter Jake Land of Concordia put together a pair of fourth place finishes last weekend at the TSU Relays. Land crossed the line fourth in the 100-meters (11.18) and fourth in the 200-meters (23.05) and then ran a leg on the fourth-place finishing 4x100 relay team that turned in a time of 42.78. Senior distance runner Walker Reeves of LeTourneau paced the Yellow Jackets at the Rhodes Invite, posting a pair of program records. Reeves broke the program record in the mile run, finishing sixth, with a time of 4:22.35 and then ran a leg on the winning 4x800 relay team with a program best time of 8:12.49. Junior Daniel Sanderson of Ozarks secured a second-place finish in the 10K at last weekend’s Rhodes Invitational. Sanderson crossed the line in tough windy conditions with a time of 34:40.61. His time is currently the second fastest in the SCAC to date.
