Colorado College Rolls past Dallas in SCAC Quarterfinals

Colorado College raced out to a 25-9 first quarter lead and then pushed the lead to 48-16 at halftime to cruise to its first on-court victory over Dallas in SCAC tournament play.  

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • The Tigers began fast as Colorado College shot a sizzling 60.0 percent (18-of-30) from the field in the first half effectively putting the game out of reach at the intermission. 
  • For the game, Colorado College shot 57.9 percent (33-of-57) from the field. It is the second-best shooting performance in a single game in SCAC tournament history. 
  • Colorado College limited Dallas to just 23.4 percent (15-of-64) from the floor including just 8-of-27 (29.6 percent) from beyond the arc for the game.
  • Adryan Alvarez paced the Dallas offensive attack as she totaled just the seventh 30+ point performance in tournament hisotry when she tallied 32 points.
  • The 32 point performance was the third-highest individual single game mark in SCAC postseason play trailing only Trinity's Abby Holland (38 points in 2019) and Oglethorpe's Anna Findley (37 points in 2007).

NOTABLES

  • Friday’s game was the first-ever on-court meeting in the SCAC tournament between Colorado College and Dallas. The Tigers recorded a win over the Crusaders in the quarterfinal round in 2021 via a "walkover" win due to COVID-19 protocols. 
  • The Tigers swept the regular season series against the Crusaders and also improved to 2-0 all-time against Dallas in SCAC tournament play.   
  • Colorado College advances to the semifinal round for the fourth consecutive years and for the sixth time in the last seven years. It also will mark the program's seventh all-time appearance in the SCAC tournament semifinals. Saturday's match-up against Texas Lutheran will be the third meeting in SCAC postseason play and the first since the two teams met in the 2022 semifinals. The Tigers hold a 2-0 mark against the Bulldogs in SCAC tournament action.  
  • Adryan Alvarez recorded just the seventh 30+ point performance in tournament hisotry with 32 points.
  • The 32-point performance was the third-highest individual single game mark in SCAC postseason play trailing only Trinity's Abby Holland (38 points in 2019) and Oglethorpe's Anna Findley (37 points in 2007).
  • Dallas ends its season with a 13-13 record.
