Tomlinson continues to be one of the most dominant and consistent players in the SCAC. The New York native led CC to another set of wins on the road to close out 2023 at St. Thomas and Centenary. She averaged 19 rebounds and 18 points per game, including a season-high 20 boards against St. Thomas, just one shy of her career-high. She scored 23 points against Centenary, the third time this season she has had 20 points or more in a game. For the week, Tomlinson connected on 48.4 percent of her shots and added 2.5 assists and 2.0 blocks per game to lift the Tigers to a 3-1 mark in SCAC play.
Sophomore guard Amiyah Barrow of Centenary led the Ladies in scoring with 18 points on Sunday at home in a 72-46 loss to Colorado College. Barrow, who entered the day as the fourth-leading scorer in the conference, played all 40 minutes for the fifth time this season and was 5-9 from the floor and 8-10 from the free throw line with five rebounds, four steals and two assists. Barrow has reached double figures 11 times this season and done so nine-straight times. Sophomore guard Aniyah Burke of Southwestern averaged 18.5 points on a blistering 50 percent shooting last week in leading the Pirates to a 1-1 record in SCAC play. Burke led the Pirates to their first SCAC win of the season over Austing College on Saturday, scoring 25 points, including 10-straight in the fourth quarter to hold off the charging ‘Roos. Junior guard Amber Bourgeois of St. Thomas was outstanding last week in her season debut, scoring 14 points, grabbing two steals, and dishing out one assists in the Celts loss at home to Colorado College last Friday. Junior guard Kailee Mulkey of Texas Lutheran was a major factor on both ends for the Bulldogs over the course of their 2-0 weekend. In limited action, Mulkey averaged 11.0 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 4.0 steals per game in comfortable wins at home over Austin College and Dallas. She matched her career-high with five steals against the Crusaders. First-year guard Jamie Ruede of Trinity led the 10th-ranked Tigers team to a split at the D3hoops.com Classic last week, earning All-Tournament honors based on her performance over the two games. Trinity lost 72-65 against Ohio Northern, then snapped its three-game losing streak with an 83-74 win over Framingham State - the first loss of the season for the Rams. Ruede averaged 17.0 points and 5.5 rebounds per game over the week, shooting 42.9% (6-of-14) from three-point range and hitting eight of her nine free throw attempts. She scored 16 points in the loss to Ohio Northern, then led Trinity to victory behind a 4-for-9 three-point performance on her way to an 18-point game.
