COLLIN RALSTON OF COLORADO COLLEGE, a junior from Mercer Island, Wash., has been selected the SCAC Men’s Swimmer of the Week for performances during the meets swam Monday, October 16 to Sunday, October 29. SCAC Swimming & Diving Release (Week 3)
Ralston led Colorado College to a pair of double dual meet victories against Southwestern, winning all six of his events over the two days.
On Friday, Ralston won the 200 IM (2:01.35), 200 breast (2:15.27), and swam a 1:00.95 breaststroke leg on the winning 400 medley relay. On Saturday, he came back to win the 100 IM (54.91), 100 breast (1:00.70), and split 26.69 breaststroke on the winning 200 medley relay.
Other Outstanding Performances in the SCAC:
Senior Cody Dean of Austin College started his last season as a collegiate athlete against UT-Permian Basin on Oct. 21 after battling for the last eight months to get back into the water. Dean had three amazing swims, posting his fifth-fastest time ever in the 200 IM and was just three seconds off his PR in the 100 breast. First-year Eli Allen of Southwestern picked up a pair of victories in the 50 free, taking top honors in a time of 21.65 on Friday and touching first on Saturday in 21.88. He was also part of the Pirates' 200 free relay team that posted a winning time of 1:28.56 on Friday. First-year Dakota Smith of St. Thomas had a strong showing at the Rice and St. Thomas dual meet this past Friday. The freshman posted individual wins in three events: the 50 free (23.21), 100 free (51.06), and 200 free (1:54.17). First-year Nick Gordon of Centenary recorded a pair of wins and a runner-up finish wins on Saturday to highlight an impressive performance by the Gents against Millsaps in a non-conference dual meet in Flowood, Miss. The rookie won the 100 fly (54.37) and 100 free (52.52) and finished second in the 50 free (22.82). He was also a member of the Gents' team to finish second in the 200-medley relay (1:49.62).
