Kaelin went a perfect 3-for-3 at the No. 1 singles spot for the Tigers last week. He opened the three-match road trip with a 6-4, 6-3 victory over Lewis-Clark State College's Matus Rusnak, then followed that up by defeating Seth Lee of Linfield University, 6-3, 6-3. He wrapped up the road trip by blanking Cameron Yang of Whitman College, 6-0, 6-0.
Kaelin has won five straight matches at the top spot and is 5-2 in dual matches this season.
Other Outstanding Performances in the SCAC:
Sophomore Aashish Dhanani of Trinity scored a pair of singles victories for the 14th-ranked Trinity men's tennis team over the weekend. Dhanani began the week by putting the final touches on a comeback against Concordia University (Texas). The Tigers were down 4-3 with two matches remaining and Dhanani won a 6-4, 6-2 decision at line six to clinch the 5-4 win for Trinity on Friday night. He also picked up a 6-0, 6-2 straight-set win during an 8-1 win over Hardin-Simmons the next day. Sophomore Bernardo Clemente of Southwestern went 2-0 at No. 3 singles last weekend, which included a come-from-behind 2-6, 6-2, 6-3 victory over Snehin Yerraguid of UT-Dallas on Saturday. Sophomore Logan Randall of Texas Lutheran earned a come-from-behind 4-6, 6-2, 6-3 victory at the No. 1 singles spot against Howard Payne, earning the first win in the top singles spot in years.
