OLIVER RAMIREZ OF COLORADO COLLEGE, a sophomore midfielder from Fort Collins, Colo., has been named the SCAC Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week from Monday, September 18th through Sunday, September 24th. SCAC Men's Soccer Release (Week 4)
 
Ramirez scored three goals in the Tigers' two victories last weekend. He scored twice in a span of 33 seconds, including the game winner, in a 3-2 win over previously unbeaten Christopher Newport, then scored the insurance goal in the final 10 minutes of a 2-0 victory over UC Santa Cruz. Ramirez finished with six shots on goal over the weekend as CC improved to 5-2-1. Ramirez leads the team with five goals and 13 points.
 
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Junior forward Louis Catchpole of Austin College continued his strong start through non-conference action scoring twice and adding an assist in the ‘Roos’ 3-0 win over Sul Ross St. last week. Catchpole is now second in the SCAC in both goals (8) and points (17) this season. Senior forward Rene Escobar of Centenary score a pair of goals last week to lead the Gents to a 1-0-1 mark, including a come from behind win over Howard Payne. Escobar scored in both fixtures and now leads Centenary with three goals on the year. Senior midfielder Zaaron Gonzalez of Schreiner scored a goal and added an assist in the Mountaineers’ 4-3 win over Dallas Christian last Sunday. Senior forward Nathaniel Blake of Southwestern scored the lone goal for the Pirates in a 1-0 win over Concordia last Friday. Blake now has two goals on the year, both are game-winners. Senior forward Taty Aleman of St. Thomas had a monster weekend for the Celts as they picked up impressive wins over non-conference foes McMurry, 6-0, and Hardin-Simmons, 5-0. Aleman finished with three goals and two assists for a total of eight points in the two fixtures to remain unbeaten on the year. Junior midfielder Erick Lopez of Texas Lutheran buried a pair of game-winning goals last week, both PKs, to lead the Bulldogs to a perfect 3-0 week and secure the best start in program history. Lopez finished the week with three goals on four shots and now sits tied for sixth in the SCAC with four goals. Senior midfielder Chen Adjei of Trinity to a 1-0-1 record last week, starting with last Monday’s 1-1 draw with NCAA Div. I Incarnate Word. Adjei finished the week with two goals and one assist, scoring the lone goal on Monday and adding a goal and an assist in the Tigers 6-1 win over UMHB.
