GEORGIA MULLINS OF COLORADO COLLEGE, a senior middle hitter from Olathe, Kansas, has been named the SCAC Volleyball Offensive Player-of-the-Week for matches played from Wednesday, September 1 through Monday, September 6. SCAC Volleyball Release (Week 1)

Mullins was voted MVP of the 2021 Colorado College Classic after she hit .551 and averaged 4.85 kills per set while leading the second-ranked Tigers to a 4-0 mark that extended the program-record winning streak to 21 matches.

In the first match of the season, a sweep of Linfield, Mullins hit .526 with 10 kills on an error-free 19 swings. It marked the 13th time in her career Mullins did not commit an error in a match in which she had double-digit attacks. In the second match, a four-set win over St. Catherine University, Mullins hit .667 and put down a career-high 23 kills. Mullins also led the defensive effort with two solos and three assisted blocks, and finished the match with a career-best 27.5 points. In the third match, a sweep of St. Catherine, she hit ,500 with 18 kills. It marked the 14th time she hit .500 or better while recording double-digit kills. Mullins wrapped up the weekend with 18 kills and a .450 attack percentage in a sweep of Linfield.

She had three of the league's top eight hitting performances (based on attack percentage) during the opening weekend of play. 

Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Senior outside hitter Avery Tuggle of Trinity paced the Tigers' offense in the Trinity Fall Classic with 47 kills (3.36/set) on a commanding .315 attack percentage for an undefeated opening weekend. The 2019 SCAC Player of the Year willed the Tigers past Hendrix with 15 kills (5.00/set) and 13 digs on a blistering .433 hitting clip, then followed that performance with 19 kills and nine digs against Whitworth. Junior outside hitter Emma White of Southwestern was named the Puget Sound Premiere Most Outstanding Player after leading the Pirates to a 3-0 record in the weekend tournament with 36 kills on a .253 hitting percentage for 3.27 kills per set. She also contributed 47 digs, five aces, and two block assists in the three matches. For the week, White had 45 kills for 2.81 kills per set average with 65 digs at 4.06 digs per set. She also contributed seven aces and three blocks for a total of 53.5 points.  Sophomore outside hitter Victoria Smith of Austin College had a big week to help the 'Roos open the year 5-0, totaling 45 kills with a .293 attacking percentage. She averaged 2.81 kills and added 0.81 blocks-per-set. Smith had a high of 13 kills in a sweep of Paul Quinn, and reached double-digits with 10 kills against Rhodes in another three-set sweep. Junior outside hitter/right side Brooke Byer of Schreiner posted a double-double in each of the Mountaineers' three matches this weekend. She had 10 kills and 13 digs against Rhodes, 18 kills and 12 digs against McMurry and 27 kills and 18 digs against Sul Ross. She hit .160, .341 and .266, respectively, in the three matches. Junior outside hitter Maddy Schultz of Texas Lutheran had 26 kills (2.6 kills per set) as the Bulldogs went 2-1 in opening week action. She had a match-high 11 kills and hit .400 in TLU's 3-0 shutout of East Texas Baptist on Friday.
