Bella Beattie, Colorado College, Offensive Player of the Week (Week 6)

BELLA BEATTIE OF COLORADO COLLEGE, a junior midfielder from Baltimore, Md., has been named the SCAC Women’s Lacrosse Offensive Player-of-the-Week for games played from Monday, April 5 through Sunday, April 11.

Beattie tied the Colorado College record of eight goals in a game to lead the Tigers to a 23-10 victory at Southwestern. Beattie's eight markers matched Annie DeFrino's total set during a 20-18 victory over Meredith College on April 28, 2018, which also was played at Southwestern's Varsity Fields. The junior midfielder scored three goals during the first half when the Pirates stayed within striking distance, and her tally with 16 seconds remaining in the first half gave the Tigers an 11-8 lead after 30 minutes. Beattie struck for the first two goals after the break to complete a natural hat trick. The Pirates trimmed their deficit to 15-10 with 17:28 remaining, however, a little more than two minutes later Beattie stepped up again and ended the spurt with her seventh goal, which ignited an eight goal barrage to close out the game. Beattie, who scored one goal in Sunday's 18-2 win at the University of Dallas and recorded an assist in Wednesday's 10-7 victory over Division II Colorado State University Pueblo, leads the Tigers with 14 goals and 15 points.
