SHREVEPORT, La. -- Third-seeded Colorado College earned a fourth-straight trip the SCAC title game after recording a 57-52 semifinal round win over second-seeded Texas Lutheran University on Saturday night at the 2024 SCAC Women's Basketball Tournament. Colorado College did not waste anytime as the Tigers opened up the game on a 21-6 run highlighted by a Zoe Tomlinson layup at the 3:41-mark of the first quarter. Texas Lutheran cut the Colorado College lead to 27-17 after a jumper from Emerald St. Laurent with 7:39 to play in the second quarter. The Tigers, however, quickly pushed the lead to 18 (39-21) heading into the halftime intermission.
The Bulldogs made adjustments at the half as Texas Lutheran cut the lead to just nine at 40-31 midway through the third quarter. A pair of Kailee Mulkey free throws with seconds left in the quarter pulled Texas Lutheran to within seven at 47-40. The Bulldogs continued their momentum as a layup from Lauren Sansano got Texas Lutheran to within a basket at 48-46 with 6:52 to play in regulation. From there, the Tigers were able to keep the Bulldogs at arms length before closing out the win.
