ZOE TOMLINSON OF COLORADO COLLEGE, a sophomore forward from New York, N.Y., has been named the SCAC Women’s Basketball Player-of-the-Week for games played from Monday, January 2 through Sunday, January 8. SCAC Women's Basketball Release (Week 9) 

Tomlinson continued her torrid pace to her sophomore year, leading CC to a 2-1 record last week averaging a double-double with 13.3 points and 16.7 rebounds per contest. Her 13.3 points came on 48.4 percent shooting. She was in double-figures in rebounds in all three contests and posted a pair of double-doubles, highlighted by her 16-point, 21 rebound effort in the Tigers’ 61-58 win over Texas Lutheran on Sunday. Her 21 rebounds are a career-high and tied for the 10th most in a single game on SCAC history. She is currently on pace to be just the fifth athlete in SCAC women’s basketball history to lead the league in both points and rebounds per games. It would be the first time since Bryce Frank of Austin College in 2018-19. In addition, Tomlinson also added 2.0 assists and 1.7 steals per contest.

Other Outstanding Performances in the SCAC:
Junior guard Megan O'Neil of Austin College had a record setting weekend, hitting an SCAC best 13 three pointers against Schreiner on her way to a career-high 39 points. She followed that up with four more threes against Trinity, averaging 25.5 points while making 17-of-34 threes for the weekend. She also averaged 2.5 steals and 2.0 rebounds-per-game. Her 39 points against Schreiner is tied for the 10th most points in a single game in SCAC history. Senior guard Josline Hernandez of Schreiner led the Mountaineers to a pair of key SCAC road wins last weekend, averaging 17.5 points on an outstanding 54.5 percent shooting, including a remarkable 58.8 percent from three-point range. She opened the weekend pouring in a season-high 21 points in just 22 minutes of action, connecting on 7-of-10 shooting and 6-of-8 from beyond the arc at Austin College. Hernandez returned the next day to score 14 points in a three-point win over Dallas.  Senior guard Maggie Shipley of Trinity led the Tigers to three SCAC wins last week, remaining undefeated at 15-0 to start the year and 6-0 atop the conference standings. Shipley came off the bench in all three games and averaged 14.7 points per game while shooting 44.1% (15-34) from the field and 70.6% (12-17) from the foul line. She also averaged 2.0 assists and 2.7 steals per contest as well. Shipley began the week with 19 points on 7-of-14 shooting against Colorado College, handing the CC Tigers their first SCAC loss of the year. She then posted a season-high 22 points on 7-of-14 shooting and 7-for-8 at the free throw line in a road win over Dallas. Shipley finished with four rebounds, four assists, and four steals in just 15 minutes against Austin College on Saturday, recording weekly-best marks in all three categories .
