KENDALL ACCETTA OF COLORADO COLLEGE, a senior from Portland, Ore., has been selected the SCAC Women’s Track Co-Athlete of the Week for meets held from Monday, April 8 through Sunday, April 14. SCAC Track & Field Weekly Release - Week 7

Accetta
shares this week's honor with Breanna Steele of Southwestern University.

Accetta broke her own school record in the 5K at the Bryan Clay Invitational Friday in Azusa, Calif. She posted a time of 16:58.63, surpassing her old record by more than 20 seconds. Her time is No. 1 in the SCAC and 19th in the country for Division III. Senior Ellie Catron of Trinity ran a new personal best in the 3k steeplechase with a mark of 11:06.74 to take third place at the SFA Carl Kight Invitational. 

Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Sophomore Breanna Steele of Southwestern established a pair of school records this weekend at the SFA Carl Kight Invite. In the 800 meters she reset her own school record for the second race in a row and was the top D3 athlete with a finish of 2:18.16. In the 1500 meters she ran a PR of 4:40.06, eight seconds faster than her previous best, and broke a 22-year old school record in the process. She was once again the top D3 athlete and was second overall. Brea sits at third place in both the 800 and 1500 in the SCAC listing. Senior Trinity Provost of St. Thomas showcased the jets at the SFA Karl Knight Invitational, posting a time of 24.81 in the 200 meter dash which set a new school record. The time also placed her in the top 15 in Division III nationally. Senior Ellie Catron of Trinity ran a new personal best in the 3k steeplechase with a mark of 11:06.74 to take third place at the SFA Carl Kight Invitational. Freshman Bailey Haas of Dallas ran a 13.44 in the 100 meters and a 27.80 in the 200 meters at the War Hawk Classic. Junior Taylor Norrell of Texas Lutheran ran 15.27 in the 100 hurdles at the Warhawk classic on Saturday, finishing fourth overall in the event. Norrell, who also ran on the 4x100 relay team that finished fourth with a season-best time of 41.58, finished ninth in the 100 meters with a time of 12.69.
