GEORGIA MULLINS OF COLORADO COLLEGE, a junior middle hitter from Olathe, Kansas, has been named the SCAC Volleyball Offensive Player-of-the-Week for matches played from Friday, February 26 through Sunday, February 28.
Mullins hit .500 with 14 kills on 24 swings with only two errors during Colorado College's two sweeps at the University of Dallas on Saturday. Mullins started the day hitting .357 with seven kills on 14 swings with a pair of errors. She also recorded eight digs and a pair of blocked shots. In the nightcap, Mulllins hit. 700 with seven kills on an error-free 10 kills. It marked the third time in her career that Mullins hit .700 or better in a match and the second time she did it in a match with 10 or more attacks. She also had a hand in three blocks in the second match.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Junior outside hitter Sarah Williammee of Trinity posted a career-high attack percentage of .615 when logging at least 10 attacks, led the Tigers with nine kills in Saturday's second match and was one kill shy of leading Trinity at 16 between both matches all as a rightside hitter. Sophomore setter Alaina Lanik of St. Thomas had 19 kills, averaging 2.71 per set, to lead the Celts to a weekend sweep against Centenary. She hit .266 on the weekend with 19 digs and 20 assists. First-year outside hitter Olivia Linton of Austin College had a strong weekend for the 'Roos, notching double-digit kills in both matches against Texas Lutheran. Linton led AC with 21 total kills and a .304 hitting percentage, averaging 2.63 kills-per-set. She added seven total digs and three total blocks over the course of the weekend. Junior outside hitter Hayden Smyers of Texas Lutheran had 16 kills in a four-set loss to Austin College on Friday. She added nine kills in a four-set loss on Saturday. Smyers also contributed 15 digs on Friday and 10 more digs on Saturday.
