ISABELLA LIPACIS OF COLORADO COLLEGE, a senior outside hitter from Piedmont, Calif., has been named the SCAC Volleyball Offensive Player-of-the-Week for matches played from Monday, October 23 through Sunday, October 29. SCAC Volleyball Release (Week 9)
Lipacis led the Tigers with 31 kills (4.43 per set) and a .277 hitting percentage in CC's two victories over the weekend. She had a match-high 15 kills in the sweep over 11th-ranked Trinity, the highest-ranked opponent CC has defeated since #2 Trinity on May 1, 2021, in the 2020-21 SCAC title match. It was also Trinity's first SCAC regular season loss since March 6, 2021, a five-set loss to Colorado College. She also led CC with 16 kills in the four-set win over Schreiner.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Senior outside hitter Tanyse Moehrig of Texas Lutheran led the Bulldogs with 42 kills as TLU finished the week with a perfect 4-0 mark, including three consecutive 3-0 sweeps at their last pod divisional. For the week, Moehrig averaged 3.23 kills and 3.5 points per set and added 18 digs and four blocks. Sophomore outside hitter Audrey Cataline of St. Thomas was a force for the Celts in their four matches this week, putting down a remarkable 60 kills (4.00 kills per set) while hitting .262 and totaling 68.5 points (4.6 points per set). She also recorded nine blocks. Senior middle blocker Andie Valenzuela of Southwestern helped the Pirates to a 3-0 weekend over conference opponents never dropping below 2.5 kills per set over Saturday and Sunday. For the week, Valenzuela hit at .284 totaling 36 kills including 13 total blocks while never dropping below .321 hitting percentage in the Pirates three games this weekend. First-year outside hitter/right side Connelley McWilliams of Trinity led the #11 Tigers to a 1-1 weekend that included a career-high 10 kills and a career-best .556 hitting percentage in Saturday's win over Schreiner.
