GEORGIA MULLINS OF COLORADO COLLEGE, a senior middle hitter from Olathe, Kansas, has been named the SCAC Volleyball Offensive Player-of-the-Week for matches played from Monday, October 4 through Sunday, October 10. SCAC Volleyball Release (Week 6)

Mullins hit .448 and averaged 4.40 kills per set while leading CC to a 3-1 record last week.

The reigning SCAC Player of the Year began the weekend by hitting a blistering .621 with 19 kills on 29 swings to lead the Tigers to a sweep of Dallas. It marked the eighth time this season and the 19th time overall that the senior middle hitter recorded double-digit kills while hitting .500 better. Mullins also had a hand in four blocked shots. Later that day, Mullins hit .435 with 13 kills in the three-set win over Centenary. On Saturday, she hit a weekend-low .333 with 16 kills in the four-set victory over Austin College, and then finished the weekend by hitting .432 with 18 kills in the five-set loss to St. Thomas. 

Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Senior right side Sara Flynn of Trinity continued her dominant performance in recent weeks to the Greater Boston area last weekend as the No. 3 Tigers picked up their fourth and fifth victories over nationally-ranked opponents in 2021 over No. 18 MIT and No. 22 Babson College. Flynn reset her career-high in kills for the third time in her previous seven matches with 16 kills against Tufts University to give her 44 (2.59 per set) on a .357 attack percentage over the four-match weekend. The Seattle, Washington-native posted three matches with at least a .350 hitting percentage, all of which came on at least 15 attempts. Sophomore outside hitter Victoria Smith of Austin College had a huge week in leading the 'Roos to a 5-1 week, with the team's lone loss coming to fifth-ranked Colorado College. Smith averaged 3.14 kills-per-set, including 3.18 against SCAC opponents, and reached double figures in kills in all four conference matches. Smith had a high of 17 kills in a three-set sweep of Centenary, and added 15 total blocks and 11 digs for the week. Sophomore outside hitter Tanyse Moehrig-Woodard of Texas Lutheran had a great all-around performance across the board, tallying 39 kills, seven digs and a block - collecting 39.5 total points - to lead the Bulldogs to two wins on the weekend. Senior outside hitter Alyssa Davis of Centenary tied her single-game career high for kills with 26 in a 3-1 victory over St. Thomas on Saturday. She averaged 6.5 kills per set and added 14 digs. In the Ladies' second match of the day versus Austin College, Davis finished with 10 kills and five digs. On Friday in matches versus Texas Lutheran and Colorado College, she recorded 19 kills, 15 digs, an ace, and an assist. Davis is the SCAC leader in kills with 300 and is averaging 4.00 per set. Davis has posted double digits in kills and digs in the same match 13 times this season. Sophomore middle blocker Andie Valenzuela of Southwestern was efficient in the team's 3-2 win over Concordia (Texas), scoring 12 kills on a .348 hitting percentage. The sophomore middle blocker is currently third in the conference in hitting percentage at .353. Senior right side/setter Alyssa Ajlouny of St. Thomas averaged 2.21 kills per set (42 total) over the course of four conference matches on the weekend. She had double-doubles against both Austin College (13 kills, 12 digs) and Dallas (10 kills, 10 digs) and hit .300+ in both matches. Junior outside hitter/right side Brooke Byer of Schreiner had a team-high nine kills in the Mountaineers' 3-0 loss to Our Lady of the Lake.
