Ellwanger went 2-0 on the week and helped lead the Crusaders to their first win since the program was brought back for the 2022-23 season. In conference action on Friday, he won his singles match (6-1, 6-3) against St. Thomas' Zhanlue Kuang, then took the top-line singles point in Dallas' 7-2 team victory over Sul Ross on Saturday.
Other Outstanding Performances in the SCAC:
Graduate student Carson Kirk of Schreiner went 3-0 for the Mountaineers, picking up top line victories against opponents from Sul Ross, Texas Lutheran and UC-Santa Cruz. First-year Jamie O'Shea of University of St. Thomas dominated line two for the Celts picking up two wins this past weekend. Against Dallas, O'Shea defeated his opponent 6-1, 6-1, then in the match against LeTourneau, the first-year shutout his opponent 6-0, 6-0. Junior Aiden Little of Colorado College posted the Tigers' lone singles win against Division II Colorado Mesa on Saturday. He defeated Diogo Manzono, 6-4, 6-3, at the No. 3 position. He is 9-6 overall in dual matches this season, including an 8-4 mark at the No. 3 spot. First-year Jared Perry of Trinity clinched the seventh-ranked Tigers' 9-0 win over the University of California-Santa Cruz with his 6-2, 6-1 win at #1 singles.
