JACK BOYLE OF UNIVERSITY OF DALLAS, a senior forward from Silver Springs, Maryland, has been named the SCAC Men’s Basketball Player-of-the-Week for games played from Monday, January 22 through Sunday, January 28.  SCAC Men's Basketball Release (Week 12)

Boyle led the Crusaders men’s basketball team last weekend to a key SCAC split, defeating Schreiner, 98-89, on Friday and then falling to 12th ranked Trinity, 97-66. Boyle averaged an impressive 24.5 points per game on a blistering 60.6 percent shooting, highlighted by tying a career-high with 30 points in the win over the Mountaineers. It marked the fourth time in the last six contests Boyle has eclipsed the 20-point plateau. In addition to his 30 points, Boyle capped off the double-double on the night by tying a season-high with 19 rebounds. On the week, Boyle averaged 24.5 points, 13.0 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 1.0 steals and 1.5. Currently, Boyle is in the top three SCAC standings for points (17.8) and rebounds (10.8) per game. He also leads the conference in blocks per game with 2.2 per game.

Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:

Junior forward Ty Williams of Trinity lifted the Tigers to a flawless weekend with road victories over Austin College and Dallas. Williams averaged a double-double, at 12.5 points and 11.0 rebounds per game for Trinity. He shot 76.9 percent (10-of-17) from the field and 100 percent (5-of-5) from the free throw line in the two wins. He posted a career-high 11 rebounds in the win against Austin College and matched his career-high in points with 21 against Dallas. Senior guard Joshua Joe of Austin College led the ‘Roos in a weekend split, falling to Trinity on Friday before defeating Schreiner, 79-70, on Saturday. Joe had 24 points on 5-of-12 shooting from the field and was 100 percent (2-for-2) from beyond the arc and 80 percent (12-for-15) from the charity stripe in the victory over Schreiner. He added six rebounds, two assists and one steal in the victory. Junior center Kamden Ross of Schreiner led the Mountaineers over the weekend with a 36-point scoring performance shooting 65.2 percent (15-for-23) from the field in the loss to Dallas. He then added 19 points (9-of-13) from the field in a loss to Austin College, 79-70. Ross continues to dominate leading the SCAC in both points per game (19.3) and rebounds per game (13.3). Junior guard Edgar Romero of Colorado College led the Tigers over the weekend with a 20-point performance in the victory over Texas Lutheran on 7-of- 9 shooting from the field. Romero recorded a career-high five made threes against Texas Lutheran and averaged 0.5 rebounds, 0.5 assists and 1.5 blocks. Junior forward Easton Allen of Texas Lutheran led the Bulldogs with two double-digit scoring performances. Allen had 16 in the victory over Southwestern on 4-of-8 from the field and 15 in the loss to Colorado College on 6-of-9 from the field. He added 7.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 1.5 steals and 0.5 blocks per game. First-year guard Gio Gutierrez of Southwestern led the Pirates in scoring, pouring in 13 points in the loss against Texas Lutheran and 16 in the loss to Colorado College. Gutierrez added 3.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists, and 2.0 steals per game.
