LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - The non-conference season continued as the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference baseball teams combined to post a record of 14-5 last week.
Six of the seven teams in the league ended last week on a win, while Trinity University and Texas Lutheran University have yet to post a loss this season.
The Bulldogs moved to 9-0 after four wins last week, defeating the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor midweek, then sweeping a series against Hardin Simmons University. This is the program's best start to a season since 2007.
No. 21 Trinity University has yet to drop a game as well, moving to 5-0 after three wins over the weekend. The Tigers highlighted their 3-0 weekend with a dominant win over #16 University of Texas - Tyler, defeating the Patriots 15-5 on the road.
Austin College opened the season with a win on Thursday, defeating Dallas Christian College in their only game last week, while Centenary College moved to 7-2 with wins against LeTourneau University and UT-Tyler.
Southwestern University picked up the first career win for Head Coach J.C. Bunch as the Pirates went 2-1 in a series against McMurry University. Schreiner University rounded out the SCAC performances with a series win against Mary Hardin-Baylor.
